Great coffee is often given distinction via great design, and increasingly serves an important function in distinguishing specialty coffee. Coffee Design Awards seeks to celebrate this effort.
COMPETITION BENEFITS
Coffee Design Awards seeks to highlight the best creativity in our industry. Winners will be recognized at World of Coffee 2024, in SCA social media, press releases and on SCA News. Additionally, each winner receives a special digital mark to signify their win.
The Coffee Design Awards Competition at World of Coffee is now accepting submissions! Complete the form and submit your new design before May 7, 2024 to be considered. Participation fee of $250 is required in submission.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES
BRANDING
The Coffee Design Awards Branding is about recognizing the brands, identities and visual environments that companies in coffee use to stand out. It’s about the logos, the style guides, the stationery, the posters, the flyers, the digital comms - anything and everything that's not the product itself or the space. Submissions should include logo files, style guides, and up to three high-res examples of the brand in-use on promotional assets, not including products or vessels.
PACKAGING
The Coffee Design Awards Packaging identifies some of the most compelling coffee packaging designs that looks beyond brand adherence from the past year. Has your company created new packaging or updated an old design since June 1, 2023?
SPACES
The Coffee Design Awards Spaces exhibit showcases places for making, teaching, serving coffee. Have you built a beautiful space since June 1, 2023?
JUDGING CRITERIA
Innovation and/or Improvements – Does the good or service create value for which customers will pay, is cost effective and does it satisfy a specific need? Is it a new twist or spin on a classic?
Design – Is the product aesthetically appealing? Is the overall result a positive, creative experience? Does the process of creating the product minimize material use or incorporate recycled, up-cycled, or otherwise sustainable materials (or in the case of food and beverage products, ingredients from sustainable sources)?
Education – How does this entry contribute to the enhancement or improve the knowledge of the coffee community? What is the greatest potential of this product?
Agro-ecology – How does this entry impact origin? Does the formulation or manufacturing process make the entry healthier and/or sustainable? Does the entry use science, business models, policies to support healthy relationships between the producers and the consumers?
Science – Does this entry impact the science of coffee? If so, how? What science, if any, was utilized in the development of this entry?
