Each year, the Specialty Coffee Association’s Best New Product Competition recognizes new products that represent quality and add value to the specialty coffee and tea industry. Eight different product categories are evaluated using the “Best I.D.E.A.S.” criteria set out by the SCA, with a winner declared in each category. The SCA takes great pride in its history of investigating the scientific principles of coffee, from chemistry and physics to agronomy and sensory perception. This research helps to develop education, standards, and best practices which form the basis of the specialty coffee trade. World of Coffee runs in large part thanks to dozens of volunteers from around the world who attend to support the various show features every year. Europe’s largest specialty coffee trade show comes to Berlin 6 to 8 June 2019, Messe Berlin ExpoCenter City. Every year in June, World of Coffee brings together the specialty coffee community in a different European city. After stops in Amsterdam, Dublin, Rimini, and Maastricht, this year’s event will be held in Berlin.
